List of Ingredients
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. Italian sausage links (remove from casings)
1 log of pepperoni (remove from casings and slice and quarter into wedges)
8 oz. thinly sliced mushrooms
1/4 bottle good Chianti wine
lots of fresh basil to taste
3-4 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. sugar (cuts the acidity)
1 (29 oz) can crushed tomatoes
14.5 oz can tomato sauce
6 oz can tomato paste
1-2 T. olive oil
Recipe
Mix all tomato ingredients into crock pot. Add salt/sugar. In a large, deep fry pan, pour olive oil to cover bottom of pan and saute mushrooms until tender. Add garlic and basil and stir together for 30 sec. more. Add 1/4 bottle chianti and reduce for 20 min. Add ingredients to crock pot. Still using large skillet, brown sausage and brown beef. About halfway through cooking, add pepperoni. Once browned, drain grease and add to crock pot. Cook on high for about 2-4 hours.
