    NO-FAIL DROP BISCUITS

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder (see note below)
    1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
    1 egg
    3/4 cup milk

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

    2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and butter; mix until crumbly. (Do not overblend.) Add the egg and milk; stir just until completely moistened.

    3. Drop the mixture by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheet, then bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden.

    Note: The main reason any biscuit recipe fails is that the baking powder is old. Want to ensure success? Always use fresh!

    Yields: about 15 biscuits
