    3 cups chopped onion
    1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped green sweet pepper
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or cooking oil
    4 tsp. Hungarian paprika or regular paprika
    3 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1-in. cubes
    1 6-oz. can tomato paste
    1/2 cup water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
    Hot cooked noodles
    Dairy sour cream

    Prep: 30 min.
    Baking: 1-1/2 hr.

    In 4- or 4-1/2-quart Dutch oven, cook onion, green pepper, and garlic in hot bacon drippings or oil about 5 minutes or until almost tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in paprika and cook 2 minutes. Stir in beef cubes, tomato paste, water, salt, and black pepper.

    Cover and bake in a 325 degree F oven for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is tender. Serve over noodles; pass sour cream. Makes 8 servings.
