    Wonderful MeatBalls for Spaghetti

    Recipe Introduction

    Carla loves spaghetti and meatballs so we usually have this sometime before Christmas. It is easy to make and you can freeze the meat balls and make the rest later to save time.

    List of Ingredients

    1 egg yolk beaten
    1 TB milk
    3 TB soft bread crumbs
    2 TB finely chopped onion
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 lb beef
    1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
    1/4 cup chopped celery
    3 TB chopped onion
    3 TB chopped green pepper
    1 tsp margarine
    1/2 cup tomato sauce
    2 TB brown sugar
    2 TB beef broth
    4 tsp lemon juice
    1/8 tsp garlic powder
    cooked spaghetti noodles

    Recipe

    In bowl mix first 5 ingredients, crumble beef over the mixture and mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on greased pan. Bake not covered at 425 for 10 to 12 minutes, turning them over if needed to brown nice. Make sauce: Saute mushrooms, celery, onion, green pepper, in butter. Add tomato sauce, brown sugar, broth, lemon juice and garlic powder. Bring to boil and add meat balls, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Watch carefully though as 15 min may be to long as they will stick.
