ground - Chili Beef Pasta Skillet

    Source of Recipe

    from creativehomemaking
Think I'll make this tonight 7/24/09 for supper.
Will let you know how it turned out.

Back....I made this, it had a good flavor
with a little zing, but the noodles should
have been cooked a little longer as they
    seemed too hard.
Next time I make it I will use
no tomato paste or hot water,
    but will substitute
    a 28 ounce can of chopped/diced tomatoes
    and
    a 14 1/2 ounce can tomato sauce
also will increase to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
and I will definitely simmer it for at
least 30 minutes so the pasta is cooked
    through.
    Original recipe is below.

ground - Chili Beef Pasta Skillet

    1 pound lean ground beef
1, 6 ounce can tomato paste
    1, 16 ounce can chopped/diced tomatoes
    3 1/4 cups hot water
    seasonings:
    1 Tablespoon unbleached flour
1 to 2 Tablespoons instant minced onion
    1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
    1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed dried red pepper
    1/2 teaspoon instant minced garlic
    1/2 teaspoon granulated white sugar
    1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
    2 cups uncooked elbow pasta

Stir together all the seasonings in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef; drain grease if desired.
Stir in the tomato paste, tomatoes, water and seasonings.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat.
Stir in pasta. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
