sweet - Apple Biscuit Round Bread
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup chilled butter
2 freshly diced apples
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/3 cup raisins
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
softened butter
Preheat oven to 350. Grease an 8 inch round cake pan.
Sift flour and baking powder together into a bowl.
Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles bread crumbs.
Add the apples, white sugar and raisins into the butter
mixture and stir together.
Mix in the egg to form a soft dough.
Press mixture into pan and sprinkle with the brown sugar.
Bake for 40 - 50 minutes, until it has risen and is golden
brown.
Remove from pan to a wire rack and let set until just warm.
Cut in half across middle, horizontally.
Spread the bottom with butter. Replace the top section.
