    Brown Sugar Sweet Rolls

    List of Ingredients

    2 c. flour
    1/4 c. light brown sugar
    1 tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. butter flavored shortening
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 c. softened butter
    1/3 c. granulated white sugar
    5 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 375.
    Lightly grease a baking sheet, or use parchment paper.
    In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt
    and cream of tartar.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Mix in milk and vanilla.
    Knead briefly on a floured surface.
    Roll out into a large rectangle, 1/2 inch thick.
    Spread softened butter onto surface of dough.
    Mix together white sugar and cinnamon.
    Sprinkle evenly over butter.
    Roll tightly, and cut into 12 equal slices.
    Place on a baking sheet.
    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
    Makes 12 servings.
