Dumplings #3, for on top of sauerkraut
2 cups flour, plus some extra for rolling
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 egg
whole milk
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cut in the shortening.
Add the egg and enough milk to make a stiff dough as
if for biscuits.
By tablespoons, roll in flour.
Place 1/2 inch apart on top of hot sauerkraut.
Cover and let steam for 15 minutes.
