    Easy Roman Cheese Bread

    This is an Easter bread recipe that Italians eat with ham and salami.

    List of Ingredients




    1 c. lukewarm milk
    2 .25oz. packages active dry yeast
    2 1/2 c. flour
    6 eggs
    1 1/2 c. freshly grated Romano cheese
    1/4 c. butter, melted

    Recipe



    Lightly grease 2 9x5" loaf pans.
    In a small bowl, stir together milk and yeast; set aside.
    In a separate bowl, combine flour, eggs, yeast mixture, cheese and butter; mix well.
    Spoon batter into pans.
    Let rise until doubled, about 60 minutes.
    Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350.
    Bake 35 to 45 minutes, until golden brown and the bottom of loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
    Makes 2 loaves.
