    1/2 lb. pureed sweet potatoes, (about 2 medium)
    ...(or bake until soft, peel, cube and puree)
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 tbsp. brown sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/4 c. chilled unsalted butter
    2 tbsp. buttermilk
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. milk
    baking parchment paper

    Preheat the oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with the parchment paper.
    Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
    Cut the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Mix together the puree and buttermilk and stir into the flour mixture until well combined.
    Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface just until the dough holds together.
    Lightly roll out the dough to 1/2" thick.
    Cut into biscuits with a round cookie cutter.
    Place the biscuits on the baking sheet.
    Combine the egg yolk and milk in a small bowl.
    Brush the top of each biscuit with the mixture.
    Bake for 12 - 14 minutes.
