    sweet - Kiwi Nut Bread

    2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 cups peeled and chopped kiwi
    3/4 cup chopped walnuts
    2 large eggs, beaten
    1 cup butter, melted
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    Preheat oven to 359 degrees F. Sift flour with sugar, baking powder,
    baking soda and salt into large bowl. Add kiwi and nuts and mix well.
    Add egg, butter, lemon juice and vanilla extract. Stir until just
    blended. Turn into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake
    at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until done. Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
    Turn out on rack to complete cooling. Serve in thin slices spread with
    softened cream cheese.
