Orange Cake w/Drizzle Frosting
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons orange rind
Cream butter well. Add sugar and cream well. Add
unbeaten eggs. Beat until light and creamy. Mix dry
ingredients and add alternately (one third at a time)
with milk. Pour into either layer cake pans or angel
food pan. Bake at 350 degrees F.
8x8 cake pan: 45 minutes
loaf pan: 45 minutes
8" layer pan: 30minutes
frosting:
1 cup confectioner sugar, sifted
3 tablespoon fresh orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
mix and drizzle over cake, allow frosting to dry before slicing cake.
