cakemix - Snow Tunnel Cake

1 pkg. Angel food cake mix
1 1/2 c. milk
1 4 1/2oz. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix
1 12oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Bake cake as directed on package.
Let cool and slice 1" layer off the top of the cake.
Gently hollow out a trench in the cake, 1 1/2" wide and 2" deep, reserving cut out cake.
Combine milk and pudding mix and beat for 2 minutes.
Tear reserved trench cake into small pieces.
Fold cake pieces and 1 3/4 c. of the topping into the pudding.
Fill the trench with this pudding mixture.
Replace the top of the cake.
Spread the reamaining topping over the sides and top of the cake.
Chill until set.
