    Source of Recipe

from cathyV, a cooking daily reader

    List of Ingredients

    Brownie Pudding

    2 cups flour
    4 Level teaspoons baking powder
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    4 Tablespoons unsweetened Cocoa powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cup milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
4 Tablespoons melted butter flavored shortening
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts, Optional

    Topping
1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 1/2 cups HOT boiling water
...(PRE-BOIL So It's Ready To Go.)

Sift 2 cups flour, 4 tsp. Baking powder, 1 1/2 cup sugar,
4 tbsp. Unsweetened cocoa and 1 tsp. salt together.
Add 1 cup milk, 2 tsp. vanilla and 4 tbsp. Melted sortening
until smooth. Add 1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (if using).
Mix well. Use 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Mix shortening and
flour together as a thick, paste like mixture and spread
evenly in pan...or just grease well and then flour pan.

    Topping:
Mix 1 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
together. Sprinkle over the batter. Pour 3 1/2 cup hot
    boiling water over entire batter.
Be CAREful not to spill when adding the hot water as it
will be very close to the top of the pan. Bake at 350
    degrees F. for 40 - 45 minutes.

The Hot water goes to the bottom of the pan, making
the pudding on the bottom, and the brownie seems to
float on the top. Be careful when removing from oven as
it moves around. Let cool, then refrigerate until ready
    to serve.
    Enjoy!!
