scratch - Vanilla Cake, w/Miracle Whip

3/4 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing
(NOT mayonnaise, as it will not come out right)
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water -- cold
2 tablespoons vanilla

Combine Miracle Whip and sugar. Combine dry ingredients. Combine
water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and water mixture alternately
to sugar mixture. Blend well. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 mins. or
until tester comes out clean.
Makes 1, 8x8x2 inch cake.


for spice cake add:
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tbsp. molasses INSTEAD of the vanilla
