    1 cup almonds*, lightly toasted and chopped
    3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
    3 ounces (1/2 cup) semisweet chocolate chips

    Butter 9-inch square pan. Spread nuts in bottom. In medium saucepan, heat
    sugar and butter to boiling. Be careful to not burn. Stir constantly for 7
    minutes. Immediately spread mixture over nuts. Evenly sprinkle chips on
    top. Cover pan to allow contained heat to melt chocolate. Spread melted
    chocolate over candy. Cut into 1-1/2 inch squares while still hot. Chill
    until firm.

    *lightly toasted walnuts or pecans may be substituted
