    Lasagna Casserole, Louisiana style

    1 cup rice
    3 egg whites
    2/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese, divided
    2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
    1 cup Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese, rinsed
    1 pound lean ground beef
    1, 15.5 ounce container spaghetti sauce
    1 Tbsp dried oregano

    Cook rice according to package directions. Cool slightly.
    Add egg whites and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese to rice.
    Mix thoroughly and set aside.
    Combine mozzarella, ricotta and 1/3 cup Parmesan.
    Mix well.
    Brown meat and drain excess fat.
    Add spaghetti sauce and oregano to meat in skillet.
    Continue cooking until thoroughly heated.
    Spoon 1/2 of rice mixture into 3 quart casserole.
    Cover with 1/2 of cheese mixture.
    Top with 1/2 of meat mixture.
    Repeat layers.
    Top with remaining 2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese.
    Bake at 375 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until
    thoroughly heated.
