    The last time I made this, I did not use the diced tomatoes, and used the garlic + herb spaghetti sauce. Ithad an excellent flavor, enough sauce to cover everything,but I like more for dipping! enjoy

    List of Ingredients

    Pierogie Casserole #A 1, w/real pierogies, easy*

    2, 16 ounce packages refrigerated potato
    ...+ cheese pierogies
    1, 16 ounce piece smoked sausage, cut off
    ...13 thin slices and set aside,
    ...slice remainder and then cut into 1/4's
    1, 16 ounce bag frozen diced red + green bell peppers
    1/2 to 1, 8 ounce bag frozen diced onions
    1, 28 ounce can Hunt's Roasted Garlic + Onion spaghetti sauce
    1, 15 ounce can diced tomatoes
    1, 8 ounce can tomato sauce
    1 cup shredded Italian 4 cheese mix
    grated Parmesan + Romano cheese,
    ...or just Parmesan

    Place pieorgies in layers in bottom of 4 quart
    casserole. Saute sausage, peppers and onions
    together until 1/2 cooked. Pour over top of the
    pieorgies. Mix together spaghetti sauce, diced
    tomatoes and tomato sauce. Pour over top of the
    meat mixture. Place the sausage slices on top.
    Sprinkle with the shredded cheese and then the
    grated cheese. Bake at 350 until the cheese has
    melted and is lightly browned and the rest of
    the casserole is bubbly, approximately 30 - 35
    minutes. Makes 6 servings.

    Serve with crusty bread and a salad.
