    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

People who live in Nebraska are familiar with Runzas. This is an easy way to get the flavor without the hard work of traditional yeast dough formed around the filling ingredients in individual serving size. It seems to be a favorite of men.You can cut the recipe in half, just use an 8x8x2" pan.

    List of Ingredients

    Runza Casserole, (beef + crescents)

    2 pounds hamburger
    2 finely chopped onions
    4 c. shredded cabbage
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
    1 pound shredded Mozzarella cheese

    Preheat oven to 350.
Brown the hamburger and onion in a skillet. Then drain.
Put the cabbage on top of the meat and let it steam for a few minutes.
    Add the salt and pepper.
Separate into pieces and spread 1 tube of the crescent rolls over the bottom of a 9x13x2" pan.
Spread the hamburger/cabbage mixture around on top of the crescent dough.
Sprinkle the cheese on top of the meat mixture.
Separate the 2nd tube of crescents, put the dough pieces on top of the cheese.
Bake for 35 - 40 minutes, covering with foil the last 10 minutes to soften the crust.
