    This is a soft ginger snap recipe that I have made
    since I was in high school.

    roll - Ginger Snaps

    3/4 cup margarine
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg -- slightly beaten
    1/4 cup light molasses
    2 cups flour
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ginger
    sugar

    Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Cream margarine and sugar; add egg and molasses.
    Beat well.
    Sift flour with soda, salt, and spices.
    Add margarine mixture. Mix well.
    Roll into balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Roll in sugar and place 3 inches apart on greased
    baking sheet.
    Bake for 12 minutes.

    Note:
    For a flatter cookie, press with bottom of glass.
