Cabbage + Cucumber Relish #2

This one has a dill flavor.
List of Ingredients
4 pounds chopped small pickle size cucumbers
1 small shredded head green cabbage
2 chopped medium onions
3 finely chopped garlic cloves
1 tablespoon pickling salt
2 1/4 cups cider vinegar
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
1 tablespoon pickling spice, tied into a muslin bag
2 teaspoons dried dill or 2 tablespoons freshly chopped
a few whole sprigs of fresh dill
Recipe
Place the cucumber, cabbage, onion, garlic, pickling
salt, vinegar and sugar in a pot large enough to hold
everything. Place the spice bag in the pot and mix well.
Bring to a boil using a medium heat. Reduce heat and
simmer for 20 more minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove the spice bag now.
Scoop into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch space at top.
Put a few sprigs of fresh on the top.
Seal and hot water process for 15 minutes.
Makes about a little more than 5 pints.
