Chili Sauce #2

Recipe Introduction
This is called chili sauce but there are no chili peppers in it.
It is a bit sweet but goes well on hamburgers and hot dogs
or anything else you want to spice up.
List of Ingredients
8 medium ripe tomatoes, cored + skinned
2 cups chopped celery
2 cups chopped onion
2 cups chopped red bell pepper
2 cups chopped green bell pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 teaspoons salt
2 cups cider vinegar
3 cups peeled/chopped apples
3 cups sugar, or to taste
2, 6 ounce cans tomato paste
Recipe
Combine all the ingredients, except the tomato paste,
in a stock pot or a large Dutch oven.
Bring to a boil, then let simmer for 2 hours.
Add the tomato paste and simmer for 30 more minutes.
Pour into clean, hot jars and water process for 15 minutes.
Makes 6 pints.
