    KFC's - Gravy #3

    Source of Recipe

from alicia's kitchen in August of 2002
I've been holding on to this recipe hoping to find
the amount for the ounces of chicken broth. Other
recipes I have found read to use a 10 3/4 ounce can
of chicken stock, but I think this particular recipe
would need more cause of all the flour in it.
If anyone has an exact amount, would you please let
me know so I can put fix this.

    KFC's - Gravy #3

    1 Tablespoon vegetable shortening
    1 1/2 Tablespoons AND 5 Tablespoons flour
1, OUNCE?????? can Campbell's chicken broth
1 chicken broth can full of water
    1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon MSG or Accent Flavor Enhancer, optional,
...(if you have problems with Chinese foods,
    ...do not use this)
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Melt the shortening in a medium saucepan over a low heat.
Add the 1 1/2 tbsp. of the flour to make a roux, (pastey).
Heat for 20 - 30 minutes, stirring often, until it is a dark chocolate color.
    Remove from the heat.
Add the remaining ingredients to the the saucepan and whisk to stir.
Place the saucepan on the heat and use a medium heat to bring the gravy to boiling.
Reduce the heat and let simmer for 15 minutes, or until thick.
    Makes about 3 cups.
