Caramel Apple Spread

This is so easy. If you like candy apples - you know, the ones covered
in caramel and chopped peanuts - you'll like this recipe, too.
Caramel Apple Spread
1, 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped peanuts, optional
sliced apples
Combine all ingredients except apple slices.
Serve.
To keep the apples from turning brown, you could, of course,
dip them in lemon juice.
However, this gives them a "twang." Try using Seven-Up, Sprite,
or any other "white" soda. Even orange juice is preferable to the
lemon juice.
