    SoupStew - Hot + Sour Soup

    List of Ingredients

    4 cups low sodium, low fat chicken stock
    1/4 cup white vinegar
    2 tablespoons light soy sauce
    1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
    2 teaspoons sesame oil
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1 cup thinly sliced carrots
    2 level teaspoons cornstarch
    1 tablelspoon + 1 teaspoon cold water

    Recipe

    Combine the stock, vinegar, soy sauce, pepper flakes and sesame oil together in a stock pot.
    Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
    Add the mushrooms and the carrots and simmer for 10 more minutes.
    Combine the cornstarch with the water; add to the soup and continue to cook for 5 minutes, until it thickens.
    Makes 6 servings.
