    Finnish - Christmas Prune Tarts

    1 lb. butter
    4 c. flour
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 lb. pitted stewed prunes
    1/2 c. sugar

    Mix flour with 1/2 pound butter; add water as for pie crust.
    Chill 30 minutes.
    Roll out and dot with 1/4 remaining butter.
    Fold dough from front to back and from each side to center.
    Chill.
    Repeat process or rolling and adding more dots of butter folding
    and chilling three times until the butter is used.
    Then roll again and cut in 3 inch squares.
    Put spoonful of prune filling in each square.
    Turn up alternating corner that has been slit (as in making a
    pinwheel).
    Pinch together in center.
    Chill.
    Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes until golden brown.
