    SandwichMaker - Apple Pastry Pies

    Recipe Introduction

    (similar to McDonald's apple pies)

    List of Ingredients



    Peel core and chop as much apple as you think you will need.

    Place apple, 1 tsp. butter and sugar to taste in a microwave safe dish.

    Add 1 tbsp. of water, cover with plastic wrap and cook a few minutes or until just cooked through.

    OR

    Place the sugar, butter and apple in a saucepan with a little water and cook until just cooked through.

    Thicken the juices a little with some cornstarch (cornflour) mixed with cold water.

    Be sure not to make too much juice.

    Recipe

    Method 1:


    Preheat sandwich maker machine.

    Cut one slice of store bought Puff pastry into 2 halves.

    Butter one side of the 1/2 slice of the pastry and repeat with the other 1/2 slice.

    Place one piece of the pastry buttered side down in the toaster.

    Fill the hollows with the cooked apple.

    Place the other piece of pastry on top, buttered side up.

    Close lid and wait until golden brown.

    Serve when as soon as cool enough to handle.


    Method 2 :


    Preheat some oil to deep fry in.

    Mix together:

    1 tbsp. plain flour

    and a little cold water,

    add some boiling water to make a glue.

    Cut one slice of store bought Puff pastry into 2 halves.

    Place cooked apple on one half of the half piece and baste edges with the glue mix to seal fold the other half of the half piece over to form an envelope type thing sealing edges well.

    Repeat this with the other half slice of pastry.

    Deep fry in the hot oil till golden brown.

    Drain on paper towel.

    Serve as soon as cool enough to handle.
