    Country Pasta Soup Mix

    1/2 c. barley
    1/2 c. dried split peas
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 c. dry lentils
    2 tbsp. dried minced onion
    2 tbsp. dried parsley
    2 tsps. salt
    1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
    2 tbsp. beef bouillon granules
    1/2 c. uncooked alphabet pasta
    1 c. uncooked macaroni

    Recipe



    Use a 1 quart, wide-mouth canning jar. Pack each layer.
    Mix the dried onion, parsley, salt, lemon peper, and the
    bouillon together in a small bowl and set aside.
    To the jar add the barley, the peas, the rice, the lentils,
    the mixed seasonings from the bowl, the alphabet pasta,
    and the macaroni. Seal and decorate the jar, and attach
    the recipe tag.

    Country Pasta Soup
    You will need:
    3 quarts water
    2 stalks chopped celery
    3 sliced carrots
    1 1/2 c. shredded cabbage
    1 16oz. can diced tomatoes, or 2 c. freshly chopped
    Fill a large pot with the water. Pour in the contents of
    the jar and stir. Add the celery, carrots, cabbage and
    tomatoes and stir. Simmer for 55 to 60 minutes or until
    the vegetables are cooked thoroughly.
