    1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
    1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
    1 medium onion, finely minced
    1 tablespoon dried sweet basil
    1/2 cup milk
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    3 - 4 tablespoons butter for cooking meatballs
    1, 10 3/4 ounce can condensed cream of celery soup
    1 1/2 cups beef broth

    Recipe



    Combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, 1/2 of the basil, milk,
    egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice together.
    Roll into 1 inch balls.
    Melt butter in frying pan and saute meatballs in batches,
    shaking pan frequently to prevent sticking.
    Remove all meatballs and set aside.
    Whisk soup and broth into pan drippings.
    Return meatballs to pan and simmer, until liquid is
    slightly reduced, stirring occasionaly.
    Makes 4 servings.
