    Macaroni, layered + baked

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

All that's left to round out the meal are garlic bread and a salad! Italian Style...Enjoy!!

    List of Ingredients

    Macaroni, layered + baked

8 ounces pasta, cooked according to package directions
1 tub (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
    8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, Italian seasoning to taste
1 large can or jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce (I use meat
    sauce)-even better: homemade spaghetti sauce

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

For this recipe long tube shaped pasta such as penne or rigatoni works
well. Kroger makes a cavatippi pasta that is great in this recipe as
well. Any pasta that will 'hold the sauce' is what you should use in
    this recipe.

While the pasta is cooking, combine the ricotta, most of the mozzarella
(save some to top the finished casserole) and the spices. Drain the
pasta. Put a thin layer of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of a sprayed 2
quart casserole dish. Add a layer of pasta, a layer of combined
cheeses, another layer of sauce. Repeat layers, ending with spaghetti
sauce. Top with reserved mozzarella. Spray aluminum foil to cover the
casserole. Wrap casserole fairly tightly with foil. Bake in preheated
oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and let rest for about 10 minutes for easier serving.

Meat (such as meatballs or sausage) may be added to this dish to make it
heartier. Vegetables (Frozen or fresh parboiled broccoli or string
beans, for example) might also be added.
