Pasta Carbonara #7, (pasta w/bacon+peas)
1 chopped medium onion
6 slices/rashers bacon, chopped
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1, 10 ounce package frozen peas, thawed
1 pound pasta, (cavatappi - elbow looking corkscrews)
Cook onion and bacon in medium saucepan over medium/high
heat for 8 minutes. Add heavy cream, salt and pepper.
Simmer, uncovered, for 7 minutes. Stir in grated cheese
and peas. Cook for 3 minutes or until mixture thickens.
Meanwhile, cook pasta al dente to package directions.
Drain well. Toss pasta with sauce in large bowl and let
stand for 1 minute for pasta to absorb sauce.
Serve immediately.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
