    1 cup grated Swiss cheese
    1 unbaked pie crust
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 cups 1/2+1/2 or cream
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground sweet basil
    1/8 teaspoon cayenne
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground oregano

    for the top:
    12 pepperoni slices
    1 large thinly sliced onion
    1, 16 ounce can whole tomatoes, undrained
    1/4 teaspoon white granulated sugar
    1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
    1/4 pound shredded Mozzarella cheese
    12 pitted black olives, optional

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In bottom of crust sprinkle
    2/3 of grated cheese. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with
    1/2+1/2, salt, cayenne, pepper and oregano until smooth. Pour
    into crust and bake for 30 minutes, until golden and a knife
    inserted in the center comes out clean.
    In a medium frying pan, saute onion with oil until tender. Add
    tomatoes, basil and thyme. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring
    occasionally, or until mixture thickens. Top quiche with tomato
    mixture. Place pepperoni, the other 1/3 of cheese and olives
    decoratively on top. Bake 5 minutes longer to melt cheese. Let
    stand 5 minutes. Serve warm.
