Vanilla Cake

1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 Level teaspoons baking powder
few grains salt
Beat the sugar, butter, extract, egg and salt together. Mix the baking
powder with the flour, and add alternately with milk to the first mixture.
Beat thoroughly. Bake in two layers and put together with a banana filling
which can be found listed under puddings. Ice with a plain frosting.
