Fish + Chip Curry Sauce

Recipe Introduction

A nice clone of a favorite sauce that is served in British chip shops.

List of Ingredients

1 chopped onion
1 chopped apple
1 tbsp. curry powder
2 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. tomato paste or tomato puree
ground black pepper
lemon juice


Recipe

Fry the onion and apple with the curry powder in the oil until tender.
Stir in the flour, cook for 2 minutes and then remove from the heat.
Add the water, tomato purée, pepper and lemon juice to taste.
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Store refrigerated.
Makes 6 servings.
