Fruit + Vegetable Stickers have Meanings - read the stickers

Besides providing the store's cash registers and computers with
product identification and price information, the PLU stickers can
tell you about the food you are buying.
The PLU system is not to be confused with the Universal Product
    Code (UPC) system.
PLU codes are applied mainly to bulk items
which need to be weighed; UPC codes are distinguished by the
sinister bar code, and applies generally to fixed weight units.

This may be of some help in your reading these PLU stickers:
Labels with 4 digits, (ie. 4011)
    indicates conventionally grown food.
Labels with 5 digits starting with an 8, (ie. 84011)
indicates the food is genetically modified.
Labels with 5 digits starting with a 9, (ie. 94011)
indicates the food is organically grown."

Aren't you glad you have this information now? What a great thing to know!
