gardening? - Christmas Tree Freshening Mixture

    2 cups corn syrup
    4 teaspoons regular liquid bleach,
    ...not the thick stuff
    1 gallon hot water

Cut approximately 1 inch off the bottom of your tree.
Drill a nice hole into the center or hammer the end
of the trunk to split or smash it a bit.
Use a 1 gallon container to mix the syrup and bleach.
Fill the rest with hot water.
Let cool and give to tree in place of plain water to
help keep the tree fresher. This also helps to avoid
    needles falling off.

The recipe makes one gallon, store the excess to
refill the tree's water as needed.
