kitchen - Remove Old Grease from Pans

Sprinkle the pan with plain baking soda. Then use
a nylon scrubber and pour a little of a Murphy's oil
soap type product into the baking soda to make a
paste. This will not scratch the surface.
Then wash as you normally would and dry immediately
    with a paper towel.

Baking soda and water will work, but it will take more
scrubbing time. So if you want to get it done faster,
    then use the oil soap.

She says she has used this method to clean scorched pans
and baked on food on aluminum cookware.

Place the cooking pans into a pot of boiling water to
which some cream of tarter has been mixed into.
Just let boil for a while. Then remove and they should
    be easy to clean.
