    Creamed Corn + Fried Onion Casserole

    1 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    1 - 10 oz pkg frozen corn, thawed
    salt and freshly ground black pepper
    1 cup canned french-fried onions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    Grease a 7-inch square baking pan or casserole dish.
    Spread the cream cheese evenly over the bottom of the pan.
    Top with corn, pressing corn into the cream cheese.
    Season to taste with salt and pepper.
    Spread the onions evenly over the top.
    Bake for 30 minutes.

    **Next time, I will add a layer of about 1/2 cup real bacon bits over
    the cream cheese before adding corn. And I used lots of black pepper.
    YUM!
