Creamy Cheese Baked Cabbage

1 head cabbage, cut into thick slices
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers

Steam cabbage until just fork tender, about 10-15 min. Drain well. Pour
into a large bowl and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly
stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese and
stir until melted. Pour mixture over cabbage.
