    Pasta with Asparagus

    1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus, trimmed, cut in 1 inch pieces
    1/4 cup chicken broth
    1/2 pound freshly sliced mushrooms
    1/2 pound garlic + basil flavor angel hair pasta
    1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tablespoon Olive oil
    red pepper flakes, optional

    Cook pasta to desired doneness, according to package instructions.
    Heat the Olive oil in a nonstick frying pan.
    Saute the asparagus in the oil, using a medium heat for about 3 minutes.
    Add the chicken broth and mushroom slices. Cook for 3 more minutes.
    Drain pasta. Transfer to a serving dish.
    Gently toss pasta with the asparagus mixture, adding the Parmesan
    cheese and pepper flakes.
    Makes 4 servings.

    Nutritional information: 312 calories, 5g fat, 17g protein,
    53g carbohydrates, 8mg cholesterol, 244mg sodium
