    Rutabaga, creamed, baked

    2 Tablespoons butter
    2 Tablespoons flour
    1 1/2 cups milk
    3/4 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    salt and ground black pepper
    4 cups diced rutabagas, cooked
    1 cup soft bread crumbs
    2 Tablespoons melted butter

    Melt the butter.
    Whisk in the flour and slowly add the milk,
    making a hite sauce.
    Add cheese and melt.
    Stir and cook until smooth.
    Place rutabagas in buttered casserole dish.
    Pour sauce over rutabagas.
    Mix melted butter and bread crumbs together.
    Sprinkle over top.
    Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
