    Scalloped Cabbage

    Recipe Introduction

    Part of this recipe came from another site, alicia's kitchen, I think, and part came from me.

    List of Ingredients

    for white sauce:
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    1 cup milk
    2 tablespoons butter or margarine
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

    for the casserole:
    1 large head cabbage
    medium white sauce
    ground black pepper
    1 1/2 c. ritz type crackers, crumbled
    sliced Velveeta cheese

    Recipe

    for white sauce:
    Combine the cornstarch and milk together in a small saucepan
    until smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Bring to
    a boil, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute. Makes 1 cup.

    for the casserole:
    Steam or boil cabbage until just tender.
    Cut into bite size pieces.
    Place 1/2 the cabbage in a buttered baking dish.
    Top with 1/2 the white sauce.
    Sprinkle generously with black pepper.
    Pour 1/2 the crumbs on top.
    Cover the top with cheese slices.
    Repeat layers.
    Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until hot.
