    Mushroom-Cheese Appetizers

    2 cups bisquick
    1/2 cup cold water
    1/4 pound of sausage
    1/4 cup of chopped green onions
    3/4 cup mayonnaise
    35 medium-sized white button mushrooms
    2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

    Recipe



    Mix the bisquick and the water until a soft dough forms. Beat vigorously 20 strokes. Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 13x9" dish.

    Brown the sausage, drain then add the onion and mayonnaise, Set aside. Remove the mushroom stems and chop finely. Add to the sausage mixture.

    Fill the caps with the sausage mixture (use a melon baller to scoop out a little more mushroom so that you can stuff them better).

    Place the mushrooms in rows on the dough, (press down so they stand straight) cover with the cheese and sprinkle with some paprika.

    Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350ºF. Remove the foil and bake for 5 more minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes then cut into small squares.
