    Posters note: I found another pudding cake recipe in my grandma's cookbook ... and I do remember her making this! Oh so good!!

    List of Ingredients




    2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 large egg
    1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon allspice
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 cup softened butter
    1 cup molasses
    1 1/3 cups melted butter
    1 cup water
    3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
    1 1/2 cup hot water

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, salt and nutmeg; set aside.

    In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar on medium speed until creamy; add egg and continue beating until well mixed. Continue alternating flour mixture with molasses and 1 cup water. Pour into a 13x9 in. pan and sprinkle with brown sugar.

    In medium bowl, combine 1-1/2 cup hot water and melted butter; pour on top of batter.

    Bake 40-55 minutes until top cracks. Serve hot with whipped topping.
