    Gooey Almond Cake

    The cake is dense, chewy and delicious!

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups sugar
    3/4 cup margarine, melted
    2 eggs
    2 teas. almond extract
    1/2 teas. vanilla extract
    Pinch salt
    1 1/2 C. flour
    2 T. slivered almonds
    2 tsp. sugar

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 350°. In large bowl, combine the 1 1/2 cups sugar and margarine; stir until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Stir in almond
    extract, vanilla and salt. Stir in flour until blended.

    Pour batter into greased 9" round cake pan. Sprinkle almonds and the 2 teaspoons sugar over batter.

    Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool slightly in pan.

    NOTE: For gift idea, bake the cake in 2-6 or 7" oven-proof skillets lined with foil or coat glass or glass ceramic skillets with non-stick cooking spray. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Leave cake in skillet, When cool, wrap and deliver.
