Icing in the Cake AKA Crawling Cake
Source of Recipe
List of Ingredients
1 box cake mix your choice
1 c. milk
3/4 c. oil
1 can frosting, saving some for drizzle if you like. I saved 1/2 cup icing to microwave & pour over cake
Mix together cake mix, eggs, milk, and oil. Mix by HAND until well blended. Add frosting and mix until well blended.
Put in to a well greased (I use Bakers Joy) 12 cup bundt/angel food pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Cool for about 10 minute then turn out on to plate.
Pour reserved warmed frosting over cake.
Some combinations that have been tried are: Strawberry cake/coconut frosting, spicecake/caramel frosting, carrot cake/cream cheese frosting, chocolate cake/coconut pecan frosting. The list goes on and on, but try whatever you think will be good.
It's been renamed crawling cake because if mixed with mixer it will crawl out of the pan while baking, and flow all over the oven.

Things to do: Remember to use a big enough pan. At least a 12 cup pan. Put a cookie sheet on the bottom rack, just in case.
Mix by hand, although some people use their KA, I am still too chicken, and it isn't too big a deal to mix by hand.
Grease and flour very well. I use Pam for Baking (or Baker's Joy if you can find it). Don't use plain pam, you need that flour in it.
Do not open the oven door during cooking, leave it in for one hour.
Allow to cool 10 minutes in pan, then turn out of pan. Allow to cool a lot, but not completely, and pour hot frosting over the cake (remember to save about 1/4 of the frosting to warm in the microwave for 30 seconds to glaze the cake. Do NOT use the whole container of frosting in the cake!!
