Leona's Chocolate Pound Cake (T&T)

Recipe Introduction

This is delish as is or I've included an icing you may like to put on this cake.

List of Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter (the real thing!)
1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
6 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 t. baking powder
4 T. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 T. vanilla extract


Recipe

Cream sugar, butter & shortening. Add eggs and beat well.

Add sifted dry ingredients, alternating with milk and vanilla.

Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.

Bake at 350� for 1 hour and 20 mins. or until cake tester comes out clean.


Icing:
Melt 1 stick margarine, 3 T. cocoa. Take off heat. Add 5 T. milk, 1 lb. powdered sugar and chopped pecans (optional). Mix well and pour over cake.
