    Peanut Butter Lovers Cake

    2 cups all purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    3/4 cup butter, softened
    2 cups sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    5 eggs
    1 cup creamy peanut butter
    1 cup buttermilk
    Peanut butter frosting (below)
    1/4 cup ground peanuts

    Grease and lightly flour three 9-in. round cake pans. Set aside.

    In bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

    In large bowl, beat butter on med high speed 30 seconds. Add sugar, and vanilla, beat until well mixed. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in peanut butter.

    Add flour mixure and buttermilk, alternately to beaten mixture, beating on low speed until just combined. Pour into prepared pans.

    Bake in 350ºF. preheated oven for 30 mins or until done. Cool in pans, on wire rack 10 mins, then, remove from pans and continue cooling on rack.

    Frost with peanut butter frosting, and sprinkle with ground peanuts.

    PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING:
    In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter with mixer, until smooth. Add 3 cups sifted confectioners sugar, a little at a time, until combined. Beat in 1/2 cup milk and 2 tsp vanilla. Then, beat in 3 to 3 1/2 more cups sifted powdered sugar until very well combined. An additional 1 tsp of milk can be added at a time, till its a nice spreading consistency. Makes about 3 cups frosting.

    This produces a less smooth, and little more grainy texture, due to using real peanut butter but, the taste is incomperable.
