    Serves: 2 dozen; TOH 1996; Effort: easy; Comments: Very Good

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 Cup Butter, softened
    1 (3 oz.) Pkg. Cream Cheese, softened
    1 Cup Flour

    Filling:
    1/2 Cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
    2 Tbsp. Butter
    1/2 Cup Sugar
    1 Egg Beaten
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    1/2 Cup Pecans, chopped (optional)
    Maraschino Cherries, halved (optional)

    Recipe



    Cream Butter and Cream Cheese together. Add Flour and mix well. Chill for 1 hour.

    Shape into 1 inch balls. Place in ungreased miniature muffin pan. Press into bottom and up the sides to form a shell.

    For Filling:
    Melt Chocolate Chips and Butter in a small saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla. Add pecans, if using. Spoon into shells. Bake at 325ºF for 30-35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

    Cool 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Garnish with Cherry Halves, if using.
