Broccoli Chicken Pasta Casserole

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 t olive oil
8 oz dried fettuccine or medium noodles
1 (16 oz) package frozen broccoli flowerets
2 T butter
2 T flour
2 t basil
1 t lemon pepper
2 cups milk
1 cup Romano cheese, grated Recipe
Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a large skillet, heat oil and stir-fry chicken strips in oil until browned, about 4 minutes. Set aside.
In the meantime, cook fettuccine according to package directions; drain well; set aside.
In a large saucepan melt the butter, stir (use a wire whisk if you have one) in flour, basil and lemon pepper. Add the milk; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, whisking often. Remove from heat and stir in chicken, broccoli, pasta and 1/2 cup cheese; turn mixture into 5-quart, lightly greased casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese; bake uncovered for 10 minutes.
